The #1 Issue- Getting COVID-19 Right
Sacramento County must do more to help lead us through the coronavirus pandemic. As your next county supervisor, I will:
1) Give the County Health Department the resources needed to expand contact tracing to track and isolate the virus. Other countries are doing it and we must do it here to get the pandemic under control, help people feel safe enough to go into public again, and get our businesses, schools, and community life going again.
2) Create a housing stabilization fund. Trump’s failure to deliver a second stimulus package for the country means millions of Americans, and thousands of Sacramentans, are about to confront the very real possibility of losing their homes. We need to prevent this tragedy, so a fund for rent and mortgage payments is a humanitarian imperative. We cannot continue to ask tenants and landlords to hang in midair without some relief.
3) Support small businesses, the life-blood of job creation in our region. They need help keeping the doors open so that our economy can rebound. Setting up a fund for that purpose is a smart investment in sustaining us through the pandemic.
